Topic: The Righteousness Of God

Scriptures: Phil. 3:9

Rightstanding/Agreement/Integrity

The Origin of Righteousness

The Righteousness Of The Law

Paul’s Resume - Philippians 3:5

Heritage

Gene

Academic acumen

Class

Righteousness which is in the law

Defines it as “My Righteousness”

In Galatians 3:2-3, Paul equates the works of the law to the flesh

Also see Romans 8:3-4

Righteousness by Faith

Defined as the knowledge of Christ

Equates gaining Christ with being found in Him

This Righteousness is from God

Is obtained through faith -

This faith is knowing him in an intimate way

The Potency Of Righteousness by Faith

Abraham’s promised inheritance was by faith - Romans 4:13

God would render the nations innocent by faith - Galatians 3:8

The promise of the Holy Spirit is by faith - Galatians 3:13-14

Opens the door to the inheritance of eternal life

The Criticality of Righteousness

It is impossible to please God without faith - Hebrews 11:6

Faith qualifies because it is God’s standard of righteousness.

Boldness In Prayer comes from righteousness - James 5:16-17

Elijah - 1Kings 17:1 “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”

Gabriel - Luke 1:19 “The angel said to him, ‘I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God…”

Righteousness - always intended to be by Faith

Even Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness - Genesis 15:6

The just shall become alive (live) by faith. The just shall be quickened by faith - Romans 1:16-17

The gospel of Christ

is God’s power to save

Is what reveals the righteousness of God in increasing measures of faith

“From Faith To Faith” means

Spiritual maturity is how much you know, believe (or agree) and accept of the knowledge of Christ

Salvation is an induction into the vastness of the riches of Christ

The more you learn of Christ, the more you need to keep believing

The Implication of the righteousness of God

The genesis principle

God gives ability before he gives the command

The ability for man to reproduce after his kind was given before the command to be fruitful an multiply

Death is the removal of God’s presence

God’s judgement is the withdrawal of His presence/covering

Active removal - Adam from Eden, Goshen (Ten plagues)

Passive removal - By deciding to leave - Lot leaving Abraham

God’s intent was always for man to be in His image

But man chose independence from God - and lost his presence - a state of death

The intent of the righteousness of God is to bring man back to His original plan

Man - in the image and likeness of God - Jesus Christ

We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus - 2Corinthians 5:21

The first shall be as the last and the last shall be as the first - Matthew 19:30

The fruit that comes from the seed would be as the fruit that gives the seed

Experiencing The Reality Of Righteousness - Ephesians 4:20-25

Verse 20 - Learn Christ

Verse 21 - Engage your mind and your senses in Him

Verse 22 - Lay aside the old man (His way of thinking)

Verse 23 - Be renewed in the Spirit that feeds your mind - 1Corinthians 2:12-13

Verse 24 - Be clothed in your new nature

Verse 25 - Speak Christ
