Promise Prayers: Psalm 96:4-9
- Vs. 4-6 acknowledge God’s greatness
- Vs. 7-9: give to the Lord, the glory due his name
- God has set His glory above the heavens
- The Glory of God set above the heavens implies the dominance of the glory
- Implies the power of God, which catapults above everything.
- Implies the exceeding greatness of God’s presence in what God does His will.
- His glory is His presence
- His glory is the weight of His knowledge and will.
- Vs. 5 God has crowned man with glory and honor
- The set God is crowned unto man, not angels
- Man is a receiver or recipient of God’s glory.
- Crowning usually occurs after doing something far beyond others.
- 1 Corinth 9:25
- But from the word, man is crowned with glory and honor without mentioning what man did, meaning man’s bestowed crowning is not based on works but grace-
- Crowing also implies a new position in the ranking of power and authority
- By virtue of the crown,
- Authority is bestowed, and access to power is given
- Hebrews 2: 5-9: To fully comprehend and walk in the glory, the church must come into existence through the crucifixion and resurrection life of Christ.
- We see JESUS
- The key to walking in the glory is seeing Jesus in your life.
- What do you see concerning your life- Jesus, in His glory
- Colossians 1:27- For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
PRAYERS:
- God open my eyes to the reality of your love concerning me (Romans 8:35-39)
- God, open my eyes to the reality of your kingdom (Matthew 16:19), you are to enforce the kingdom on this earth
- God, open my eyes to the reality of your authority that you have bestowed upon me.
Conclusion: The revelation of the man crowned with glory and majesty is the man in Christ.
